How to Use Time Conjunctions
সময় বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত বিভিন্ন Conjunction-এর বিস্তারিত নিয়ম ও উদাহরণ নিচে দেওয়া হলো।
1. after (পরে)
একটি কাজ শেষ হওয়ার পরে অন্য একটি কাজ শুরু হলে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Simple: He finished his work. He went to the park.
Joined: After he finished his work, he went to the park.
2. as / while (যখন)
দুটি কাজ একই সময়ে ঘটলে বা একটি দীর্ঘ কাজের মাঝে অন্য একটি ছোট কাজ হলে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Simple: She entered the room. Her phone was ringing.
Joined: As she entered the room, her phone was ringing.
Simple: I was studying. My mother called me.
Joined: While I was studying, my mother called me.
3. as long as (যতক্ষণ পর্যন্ত)
একটি কাজ অন্য একটি কাজের পুরো সময় ধরে চললে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Simple: You can use my car. You drive carefully.
Joined: You can use my car as long as you drive carefully.
4. as soon as / once (যেইমাত্র / একবার যখন)
একটি কাজ শেষ হওয়ার সাথে সাথেই অন্য একটি কাজ শুরু হলে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Simple: The rain stopped. We went outside.
Joined: As soon as the rain stopped, we went outside.
Simple: You finish the test. You can leave.
Joined: Once you finish the test, you can leave.
5. before (আগে)
একটি কাজের আগে অন্য একটি কাজ শেষ হলে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Simple: Look both ways. You cross the street.
Joined: Look both ways before you cross the street.
6. by the time (যে সময়ের মধ্যে)
একটি নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের আগেই অন্য একটি কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়ে গেলে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Simple: We arrived at the theatre. The play had started.
Joined: By the time we arrived at the theatre, the play had started.
7. since (থেকে)
অতীতের কোনো নির্দিষ্ট সময় থেকে কোনো কাজ শুরু হয়েছে বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Simple: He left the village. I have not seen him.
Joined: I have not seen him since he left the village.
8. till / until (পর্যন্ত)
একটি কাজ অন্য একটি কাজ শুরু হওয়া পর্যন্ত চললে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Simple: We waited. The train arrived.
Joined: We waited until the train arrived.
9. when / whenever (যখন / যখনই)
when একটি নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের ঘটনা বোঝায়, আর whenever প্রতিবার ঘটা ঘটনা বোঝায়।
Simple: I was a child. I lived in a small house.
Joined: When I was a child, I lived in a small house.
Simple: I feel tired. I listen to music.
Joined: Whenever I feel tired, I listen to music.
10. still (এখনও)
still একটি adverb যা দেখায় যে একটি পরিস্থিতি বা কাজ অব্যাহত রয়েছে, প্রায়শই প্রত্যাশার চেয়ে বেশি সময় ধরে। এটি সরাসরি দুটি বাক্যকে যুক্ত করে না, তবে অর্থের মাধ্যমে সংযোগ স্থাপন করে।
Idea 1: It started raining an hour ago.
Idea 2: It is raining now.
Combined: It started raining an hour ago and it is still raining.
