Why Join Sentences? (কেন বাক্য সংযোগ করবেন?)

Joining sentences helps to make your writing and speaking more fluent, varied, and sophisticated. It avoids the repetitive and childish style of using only short, simple sentences.

Methods of Joining Sentences

1. By Using a Participle (Participle ব্যবহার করে)

Use the -ing form (Present Participle) when one action immediately follows another by the same subject.

Simple: He saw a tiger. He ran away.

Joined: Seeing a tiger, he ran away.

2. By Using an Infinitive (Infinitive ব্যবহার করে)

Use the to + verb form to show purpose or cause.

Simple: He wants to earn money. He works hard.

Joined: He works hard to earn money.

3. By Using Conjunctions (Conjunction ব্যবহার করে)

Coordinating Conjunctions (and, but, or, so) create compound sentences.

Simple: He is poor. He is honest.

Joined: He is poor but he is honest.

Subordinating Conjunctions (as, since, because, though, when, if) create complex sentences.

Simple: He was ill. He could not go to school.

Joined: As he was ill, he could not go to school.

4. By Using a Noun or Phrase in Apposition

Use a noun or phrase to describe another noun next to it, usually set off by commas.

Simple: This is my friend. His name is John.

Joined: This is my friend, John.

5. By Using a Preposition with a Noun or Gerund

Use prepositions like on, after, besides, in spite of, for before a noun or gerund (verb + ing).

Simple: He heard the news. He fainted.

Joined: On hearing the news, he fainted.
