Learning: The ‘th’ Sounds (/θ/ & /ð/)

The ‘th’ sound can be tricky! It has two forms: voiceless (just air) and voiced (vocal cords vibrate).

  • Voiceless /θ/: Like in “think”, “three”, “path“. (Tip: Your throat is quiet).
  • Voiced /ð/: Like in “this”, “mother”, “weather”. (Tip: Your throat vibrates).
