গল্পটি একটি ফেব্রুয়ারি মাসের বিকেলবেলার, যেখানে শান্তিনিকেতনের বিভিন্ন বাড়ি একে অপরের সাথে কথা বলছে। বাতাস তাদের কথা বহন করে নিয়ে যাচ্ছে। শান্তিনিকেতন, সবচেয়ে পুরোনো বাড়িগুলোর মধ্যে একটি, তার পুরোনো দিনের কথা মনে করছে। পুনশ্চ জানায় যে তার নামকরণ হয়েছে রবীন্দ্রনাথের একটি বইয়ের নামে এবং সে শাল গাছের ঝোপের পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে।

About Santiniketan
Santiniketan is a neighbourhood of Bolpur city in Bolpur subdivision of Birbhum district in West Bengal, India. It was established by Maharshi Debendranath Tagore, and later expanded by his son, Rabindranath Tagore, whose vision turned it into a university town with the creation of Visva-Bharati.
It is famous for its unique educational philosophy of open-air classrooms, where students learn in close communion with nature. Santiniketan is also a renowned cultural centre, known for its vibrant festivals like Poush Mela and Basanta Utsab, which attract thousands of visitors every year.
